How many did the lockdowns kill?

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, governments worldwide imposed lockdowns, effectively placing billions of souls under house arrest.

Many people lost their livelihoods, suffered great psychological trauma from forced isolation, and countries incurred massive debts, which ultimately gave rise to the rapid inflation we are witnessing today.

And what benefit we drew from all this suffering and hardship?

Absolutely nothing!

• Lockdowns implemented worldwide in response to the COVID-19 pandemic caused immense suffering and hardship for billions of people, without achieving any significant benefit.

• Countries that imposed stricter lockdowns appear to have had more COVID-19 deaths than those with fewer restrictions.

• Lockdowns led to the deaths of vulnerable individuals, such as mothers and children, in some places killing more people than COVID-19 itself.

• The wealthy minority benefitted from the lockdowns, while small businesses and taxpayers suffered, and people died.

Research showed that lockdowns did almost nothing to ‘flatten the curve’ that proponents of this draconian policy so often cited to justify it.

Even as it began apparent that lockdowns were not working, world leaders instead chose to double down on the policy.

If anything, judging by the numbers, countries that imposed stricter lockdowns seem to have ended up having even more COVID-19 deaths than those which has fewer restrictions.

But that is not all.

Another report has given us more fodder as to why we should all hate our government for what they made us endure unnecessarily.

In some places, lockdowns ended up killing more people than COVID-19 and usually, these victims were those most vulnerable in society such as mothers and children.

While data is hard to find due to a lack of studies on this topic, what information is available paints a very morbid reality.

In South Asia, for instance, a 2021 United Nations report estimates that lockdowns resulted in some 239,000 maternal and child deaths.

This is a figure higher than the total COVID-19 deaths in the region to date and by now likely might have doubled.

In 2020 alone, worldwide, 267,000 children under age 5 in low- and middle-income countries perished because of lockdowns.

A report on the total worldwide lockdown-related deaths is yet to be made but I can guarantee the figure is likely to be higher than the mortality figure for COVID-19.

Lockdowns that the leftists were so much supportive of ironically ended up killing the hundreds of thousands of the very people these political loonies claim to fight for: women and people of colour.

The lockdowns disrupted essential services, paralysed the economy, and reduced hundreds of millions into effective poverty in the developing world.

With this policy, those who had been suddenly forced out of their job neither could find any alternative means of income or any aid from a charity.

Ultimately, they died from hunger, disease, and wastage. 

This idiotic response to the pandemic ended up undoing decades of progress against poverty brought to the world thanks to true free enterprise (as opposed to corporatism and crony capitalism).

According to one forecast, there were 263 million more people fell into extreme poverty in 2022 alone, bringing the total to 827 million – 1/8th of all of humanity.

But you know what?

A tiny minority — the very purveyors of corporatism and crony capitalism who fly annually to Davos in their private jets — added trillions or so US dollars to their net worth in the same period.

So perhaps, those lockdowns weren’t actually meant to stop the spread.

Perhaps it was all orchestrated to shut down small businesses, reduce people to desperate poverty, and siphon all that delicious taxpayer money into some very deep pockets.

And perhaps the globalist ‘elite’ knew that lockdowns would end up killing people thus adding to their pursuit of worldwide population control.
