'Not Liberals' resent Christians in the Liberal Party
Nation First explores the anti-Christian bent of some in Australia’s mainstream conservative political party.
Dear friend,
There’s no such thing as a ‘moderate’ member of the Liberal Party of Australia, which for those in other parts of the world, is supposed to be the mainstream conservative party down under.
The reality is that any such person describing themselves as a ‘moderate’ does not belong in the Liberal Party, should not be let in, and is damaging it to the point of being a wreck beyond repair.
Watch George’s video on Mass Formation Psychosis and What To Do About It.
Rather than ‘moderate Liberal’, they should be called ‘not Liberal’.
It is their continued, aggressive influence in the party which makes authentic conservatives unwelcome, and leads people like Victorian Liberal leader Matthew Guy to literally expel a sitting MP for being a pro life Christian.
‘Moderates’ are illiberal.
They hate conservatives because ‘moderates’ hate small government, big liberty, common sense and traditional values.
In 2016 ‘moderate’ — and then Prime Minister — Malcolm Turnbull (also a Labor Party reject) had his leadership and policies tested at the only poll that matters.
He lost 14 seats, winning government by the slimmest of margins possible.
He was sold by ‘moderates’ as the great hope of Liberal electability, yet the truly conservative Prime Minister Tony Abbott whom he deposed, repeatedly flourished in the same, uniquely important national poll.
In 2010 Abbott led the Liberal/National coalition to gain seven seats, equalling Labor’s result but failing to get the cross bench support needed to form government.
Three years later he gained a whopping 18 more seats and brought the Liberals back from the wilderness.
But ‘moderates’ sold the party a bill of goods, and insisted only their limp policies and listing values could win seats.
They hemorrhaged nearly all the ground conservatives had gained over 6 years, and on election night 2016 no one knew what the outcome would be.
The next day in my church hundreds of Christians who’d stayed away from actually participating in politics suddenly cared enough to pray about the election outcome in the Sunday morning service.
It left me wondering where they’d all been the day before, knowing full well it hadn’t been beside me in the trenches at polling places or volunteering themselves in any way to influence the election outcome they now claimed to care about.
Where they were needed (and still are), was helping save the very soul of the nation; and more specifically, the Liberal Party.
The thing is, Australia is an inclusive democracy.
Voting itself is compulsory because our system and traditions of democracy don’t just permit participation, it’s required at a basic level and invited at every level.
Our constitution removes all barriers for the full participation of people with deep religious faith.
Separation of Church and State is an important foundation for liberal democracy, yet it’s commonly turned upside down and butchered to mean the opposite.
The notion is enshrined in Section 116 the Australian Constitution:
The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust under the Commonwealth.
If the plain meaning of Section 116 is yet still ambiguous to radical secularists, even ordained ministers of religion are able to and do serve their state and nation as Members of Parliament.
It is preposterous and irrational to suggest they should or could amputate their morality and spirituality before they walk the halls of power.
So then, how is it the ‘moderate’ factions of the various branches of the Liberal Party at times presume to object to the full and enthusiastic participation of conservative Christians in the life of the allegedly democratic Liberal Party?
Is a religious test okay in the Liberal Party, though clearly prohibited in Commonwealth legislation?
When the Liberal’s elder statesman and former Prime Minister John Howard spoke of a ‘broad church’, was that naturally excluding Church-goers?
Is the circus tent now meant to be large enough to include the clowns left of centre (‘not Liberals’), but leave consistent conservatives outside?
Sadly, the exile of authentic Christians from the public square in an inclusive democracy like ours is all too often self-imposed for a myriad of reasons, none of which are coherent.
Worst of all reasons is the gullible agreement with radical secularists whenever Christians try to democratically recruit more Christians to the Liberal Party.
They behave as if Christians are the only cultural group validly vilified when they try to coordinate their constituents or increase their influence.
The phrase ‘separation of Church and State’ is only rightly understood as a synonym for religious liberty, not Christian political suppression.
As Rev Martin Luther King Jr. preached, bringing all of his Christian conviction to politics:
The Church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the State, but rather the conscience of the state.
It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool.
Christian Senator Alex Antic’s ethical efforts to recruit members to the Liberal Party has attracted pejorative headlines like, “Christian soldiers fight back in Liberals’ holy war”, and, “The Divine Right: Pentecostal recruitment drive divides SA Libs”.
These headlines and the loaded language in other articles is unapologetically used by the fake news press to stoke fear of a group of people primarily based on their religious identity in such a way that would be unacceptable if it was any other group of people.
There is nothing the Left’s long march through the institutions fears more than the conservatives and Christians imitating successful strategies, and the silent majority’s march back with patience, persistence and participation.
They’ve labeled it ‘Christian nationalism’ or ‘dominionism’, but it’s nothing more than what they’ve been doing themselves for the last 50+ years: quietly and politely turning up and speaking up until they win the numbers game.
Even though leftists, progressives and ‘moderates’ are really nothing more than a fringe minority, they’ve prevailed in the war for our culture and been credited more than their due, simply because so many Christians haven’t bothered to even turn up at party preselections or volunteered on polling day.
Everyone should get out of the pews, love their neighbours enough to participate in politics, and know what the Bible actually says about it all.
In less than two weeks, Senator Alex Antic, James Macpherson and a variety of Christian political experts including myself will speak at the Church And State Conference in Adelaide.
We’ll teach hundreds more Christians how to stop surrendering and march back.
The criticism of such enthusiastic participation in our allegedly inclusive, liberal democracy, will ultimately come from the enemies of the Liberal Party: ‘moderates’, media and other leftists.
Such radical departures from Liberal values shouldn’t ever be called ‘moderate’, but naked Marxism.

Editor’s Note:
I've been to many of the Church And State Conferences, and can confirm the quality of speakers and content is always excellent.
Church And State Conferences are growing in demand around Australia, and this year have been held in Brisbane and Moree already, with Adelaide, SA and Dalby, Qld happening this month.
Tickets to them & the next Summit in Brisbane (March) are now available on the www.ChurchAndState.com.au website, and if you'd like to help bring a conference to your city or region next year, email dave@ChurchAndState.com.au to begin the discussion and mention I sent you.
God bless you, your family & nation.
Take care,
George Christensen

Thanks George ... the resounding lesson across the world has been that good people need to take responsibility for the governance of their country and for their faith as Christians...both have been neglected badly..
One important aspect that has caused this has been due to an adherence to the compromise of “JudaiChristian or Conservative values” rather than allegiance to Jesus in a living vibrant relationship...
To hide your faith and love of Jesus behind “Conservatives values” is weak and leads young people into legalism and so it fails.. it’s relying on traditions of men not Christ..it’s the law not faith.., young people are inspired by faith and a cause, not legalism..
Howard, Anderson and others took the conservative path and left a gapping whole that’s been filled with rubbish..because they left no life..
Every church in the world knows they have to pass a living faith onto the next generation or the church dies..and there in lies the hope that we raise up the next generation to lead by faith and calling not allegiance to a party..
The other killer is the false doctrine within the church that abdicates responsibility by saying politic shouldn’t be discussed in church it leave people vulnerable and ignorant...
Alex Antic is one of the very best politicians who choose honesty over popularity..so is Gerad Rennick even though he doesn’t profess faith..
Scomo on the other hand has been an utter traitor to Australia, the Liberal party and his faith... he’s done a lot of damage..he’s the epitome of duplicitous behaviour..
I am glad you raise these issues but we have to be not afraid of the Gospel and our allegiance to Father God and Christ Jesus..
We don’t have to shrink back, we have God and prayer and consider how often Christians have risen to lead ..
They will again but it is the wisdom of God to let people reap what they sow ... so that they repent... from neglecting their responsibilities
I suggest LINO, Liberals In Name Only - goes well with the US RINO, Republican In Name Only.
