As an addendum to this awful tale -- and to show how the drug regulators in Australia aren't the be all and end all when it comes to safety -- this drug was actually approved for use in Australia as this website shows: https://www.nps.org.au/australian-prescriber/articles/trovafloxacin-and-alatrofloxacin-mesylate

The drug was later withdrawn from the market: https://go.drugbank.com/drugs/DB00685

The withdrawal was due to the drug's "hepatotoxic potential" which means it damaged the liver: https://academic.oup.com/toxsci/article/167/2/385/5106022?login=false

Dear George,

You are telling me what I suspected is happening. We have a federal act that deals with environmental protection, etc. It is written and passed by dumb humans. Every species on Earth has a predator. That is part of the “food chain”.

To claim some species are close to extinction, that apparently is the fault of humans. Some species don’t want to be seen, thus if you don’t see them does not indicate that they are extinct. I think they are smarter than humans.

Big pharma is working hard as a predator of humans. I cannot think of any animals, except sharks, lions, tigers and some large monitors that are threats to us humans. Oh, I forgot, there are viruses and bacteria out there, manufactured by big pharma that is an even bigger threat, because we can’t see them.

Keep at them George.
