Nation First asks if Western civilisation is going mad right now and, if so, why?

Browse any social media channel or news outlet right now and you are bound to ask the question: ‘why is everything so crazy?’

What just a generation ago was considered unthinkable or just within the realm of dystopian fiction is now our reality.

Our governments are becoming more totalitarian and there are droves of people, especially the youth, who support this.

All sorts of idiosyncratic opinions are being passed off as truth.

People are casually calling for the imprisonment — and even murder — of their neighbour, colleague, or family member who is slightly different in their beliefs.

Think for a moment about the absolute disdain some had for those who refused to follow governmental diktat on COVID-19.

Fringe movements are going mainstream while nonsense trends and concepts are being followed religiously.

In a nutshell, seemingly so many unrelated things are going wrong without there being a concrete explanation as to why.

However, delving deeper, one can identify four major reasons behind the current trend — ironically all an outcome of our success and an eventual cause of our downfall.
