Dear friend,
Nation First is back!
As you may already know, this publication has been on an extended hiatus, while I (George Christensen, editor) ran as a candidate in the Mackay Regional Council election on a campaign of NO MORE WOKE rubbish in local government.
I paused my work with Nation First to run for a seat on the Mackay Regional Council, aiming to address and counter woke ideologies in local government.
I expressed opposition to an inappropriate event being held at a council-run theatre, that being a drag queen show aimed at children as young as four!
During my campaign, I faced media bias and was subjected to unfounded questioning, which underscored the vital role of alternative media platforms like Nation First in providing truthful reporting.
I am motivated to continue my efforts with Nation First and am considering the revival of MackayNews.com to offer a trustworthy, free news source for my local community.
I am currently among the top candidates in the council race, which is very close. I remain optimistic about the opportunity to serve Mackay’s community directly from within the council but at the same time, will continue to serve you with Nation First.
One example of wokery at a local council level I have been fighting against is a drag queen show for children as young as four years old being held at the ratepayer-funded and council-run Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre.
To be quite honest, this event only became known to me after I nominated. I was quite shocked to see that this agenda had even crept its way into my small home city of Mackay. It knows no bounds!
The campaign for the council was marred by extreme media bias, with journalists asking the team I was in whether or not we were ‘anti-vaxxers’ (we weren’t) or whether we were associated with the ‘freedom movement’ (as if that was a bad thing).
I even copped a spray from the local newspaper for writing in Nation First that the jab had killed people (which is true), and for my work with CitizenGO defending religious freedom and defending children against the onslaught of hyper-sexualised ideologies (particularly gender fluidity).
That newspaper even made the accusation that my motive for running for council was financial without any basis for that claim.
The media’s attacks reinforced the importance of the role of alternative media to me, which is why I’m going to keep Nation First and Eureka Free Press going, even if I am elected to Mackay Regional Council.
In fact, for Mackay/Whitsunday region locals, I am even considering resurrecting my idea of a free local news service, the apparatus of which is already established at www.MackayNews.com
As for my council run, the mayoral candidate for the team I ran with (Mackay First) is waiting the distribution of preferences from the third-ran candidate to find out if he has won the mayoralty or not. It’s that close, despite all the media bias.
As for me, I am sitting in the top 10 of the council candidates which is where you need to be to secure a spot on the council. However, there are about 66,500 more votes to count in that race so the wait for the final result will be lengthy.
Thanks for sticking with Nation First through this hiatus and I look forward to bringing you more news and analysis this week and beyond!
Until next time, God bless you, your family and nation.
Take care,
George Christensen
