Commercialising Christmas has been its greatest undoing furthered lately by technology Compulsion to have expensive feasts toys gadgets travels and outings has boosted that trend and there are cards decorated trees charity calls for toys &"essential" gifts Why are these considered necessary to celebrate Christmas when talk of the reason for Christmas is sidelined and rarely brought forward at most gatherings it is there where focus is more on the weather holiday time latest sports scores financial and emotional problems ,beer prices and similar but not the main reason Family meetings are lovely enjoying the company attending invoking old memories but these events often finish with disagreements and fractured relationships and the main reason is again ignored Lately Christmas disappoints me for stated reasons and having no wish to take part just desire to spend that time quietly listening within to what things should be & knowing that church attendance does not appeal either as newer less acceptable notions have come to the fore . I'm the original Grinch BUT... Happy Christmas to all with a great New Year to follow

Let me tell you friends that the Lord Saviour Jesus Christ is alive and coming back soon to establish God's Eternal Kingdom of Heaven in which all Christians shall live and reign with the Lord Saviour Jesus Christ for all ETERNITY!

That was a really wonderful read. Thank you for sharing that.

I often feel a bit disgusted at the excess Of food, presents and alcohol at Christmas even within my own family. In so many families Jesus is not even mentioned any more. Even attending church is just a token. My prayer this year is that we all take a moment to really remember our Lord and Saviour and the true meaning of Christmas and what it means to our own lives.

Thank you George and God Bless!

The true meaning of christmas is pagan, and involves the worship of other gods. There is nothing Biblical about it.

The only true God wants to be worshipped the way His Word instructs us…not on the coat tails of a pagan celebration.

I recently came across a saying, and I think it’s spot on…”If christmas was truly about Jesus/Yeshua, the world would hate it”.

I remember Christmas in Scotland when I was a child. The dark cold nights and fresh days. The lights on the streets in towns so exciting and magical. I used to like that we sang all the Christmas carols at school and in church and that most schools, churches and shops showed displays of the nativity. It made it real and a magical time. Toys were often hand made and Christmas Day was a big cooking affair. Unlike Australia Christmas Day was spent mostly with family as venturing out was usually too cold so not conducive to a lot of travel to visit other members of family. Not that I’m complaining about Christmas here as we all get to see each other, even the in-laws so that is nice. It’s just that those memories were more around the birth of Jesus with some excitement about Santa and the cold and lights made it more real.

Merry Christmas everyone and to you and family George. Thanks for all you do. May 2023 be good to us all

It is time to tell people about the true meaning of Christmas. For God so loved the world that He gave us His only Son so that whoever believed that Jesus gave His life to pay our debt for our sins would be given eternal life with God.
