A very good post, George. Foreign ownership is a huge problem, and the govts are turning a blind eye (or, as you have suggested, a complicit eye?) to this.
Indeed strategy is what it's all about. Whilst massive inland properties that run a lot of cattle or have mining ties are under Chinese rule now, don't forget the Port of Melbourne also has a large Chinese stake in it, whilst yet another Labor stooge, Dan, Dan the Garbage Man, was at the helm...
They are not turning a complete blind eye, the FOCI rules are pretty strict, the problem lies with the states. The Darwin port thing was done behind the Feds back and the lease signed on the sly.
Yet again we come down to the dodgy States...oh how they have been screwing everyone over for years!!! Really makes me wonder why we need 3 levels of govt in this country. We don't. Even one level is too much some days!
But yes, certain zones should be off-limits to foreign ownership - in any country eg ports, mines, airports etc.
Whilst Labor and the Liberal In Name Only (Lino's) are in the house this is going to be the ongoing trend. The reason they were so desperate to get the voice over the line was to implement the UNDRIP and in this case Article 26 that gives the native land owners the right to "negotiate" directly with anyone who wants to use (exploit) their land. In effect the voice and UNDRIP was designed to set Australia up for asset (Resources) stripping and to open the door for a potential take over of this nature. Minerals and base resources, coal, iron ore, limestone, bauxite and any rare earth metals should be declared strategic. Same for all ports, airports, airfields, power, telecoms, rail and roads infrastructure. Change the rules so that no strategic asset can be part owned or leased by any company linked to the CCP or that has more than 2% FOCI burden regardless of country of origin. Restrict leases to foreign entities at a maximum of three years and include a mandatory cancellation clause if its deemed the company has not or is not acting in the best interest of the nation or is taken over by China. Any infrastructure subject to a lease to a Chinese linked company, the lease cancelled, pay the penalty and find an Australian owned company to take it on and give them a massive tax break to make it easier.
Byv the vlooks of that graf, looks like they already ow this country by what is coming in, and remember our governments have given China the job of getting those turbine blades here instead of them being built here. We have the engineers here , but to them its the cost they're looking at, as long as it's CHEEP,but it's also poison, but governments couldn't care less.

Oh yea, don't even get me started on that "national cabinet" business, that is an even bigger problem and needs to be shut down asap.
You mean you don't like our evil pollies having secret meetings?!
I thought everyone liked being kept in the dark and that it was the best thing since sliced bread...!!

Since when have Labor or Liberals really cared about Australians.
This is what happens when a communist fifth column gains a stranglehold by infiltrating every level of government and industry in a country.
Incredibly alarming
