Human rights. Human wrongs.
Nation First's Moxie Philosopher invokes Diogenes of Sinope in defence of the most beautiful right: free speech.
By the Moxie Philosopher
Let reason be thy guide and make thee see.
Then shall the distant past be present still,
The future, ere it comes, thy vision fill—
Each single moment touch eternity.
— Goete.
Human rights should be about inclusiveness and protecting the integrity of all human beings, but the politics of the Left is leaving the dream in tatters and the goal of basic universal rights such as freedom of speech, is left only to the chosen few.
The protection of human rights and freedoms is essential in an age where technologies govern most aspects of everyday life.
Diogenes of Sinope recognised “freedom of speech” as the most beautiful right — yet now defamation and bullying occur whenever someone expresses an opinion outside the left-of-centre narrative.
Authorities and their foot-soldiers use methods such as labelling people 'cookers' or ‘conspiracy theorists’ to stifle discussion and debate.
This has a chilling effect on human rights and freedom of speech, causing people to mute themselves out of fear of offending others.
We must consider the kind of society we want for ourselves and our future generations, before this phenomenon results in further atrocities like torture or genocide.
You can watch the last Nation First YouTube video here:
In an age where humanity is more and more at the behest of technologies that govern most aspects of everyday life, the protection of human rights and freedoms has never been so important.
COVID overreach was a brutal reminder of the lengths that authorities will take in order to push their own agendas, to the detriment of the rights and freedoms we hold dear.
Western civilisation is built on foundations laid by noble minds that delved into the importance of protecting human life, ways to encourage human flourishing and explored the foundation of knowledge and the nature of reason.
We are lucky to have this solid base.
But it is also essential that these voices are not forgotten.
The ancient philosopher, Diogenes of Sinope, said that the most beautiful right was that of freedom of speech.
He was right.
But in a world where it is becoming the norm to call a woman a ‘chest-feeder’, and a ‘person who menstruates’, can we really say that we have freedom anymore?
Can we say we have freedom of speech when merely attending a lecture will ensure you are surrounded by protesters and called a fascist?
That’s exactly what happened to attendees of a lecture given by intellectual and respected psychologist, Dr Jordan Peterson, in Sydney earlier this month.
I was one of those attendees, and was greeted by a small but loud group of protestors who were calling Dr Peterson, and those of us who had the audacity to want to hear his lecture, fascists, racists, bigots and misogynists.
Clearly, the protestors had no idea what fascism means.
It’s a shame that the protestors did not actually listen to his speech, as it delved into pro-social behaviour and how it forms during childhood. His core message was one of peace.
And we need only look at the backlash against Elon Musk for daring to expose the deliberate stifling of the story exposing the Biden family corruption racket.
This should be front page of EVERY newspaper in the USA, yet the liberal media continue to prop-up the Democrats.
And, I am sure most people reading this newsletter have had the unfortunate experience of the usual social media pile-on when expressing views that do not fall in line with the left-of-centre narrative.
Those who have chosen to explore the impacts of vaccination and valid scientific research into effects and efficacy, are now labelled ‘cookers’.
[Editor’s note: ‘Cookers’ surely should be the pejorative for those who gleefully juiced up on whatever was cooked up in that concoction they call a ‘vaccine’.]
Those who lost their jobs and livelihoods as a result of lockdowns and forced vaccinations were bullied into submission on most social media sites, and labelled conspiracy theorists — the tried and true method that authorities and their ardent foot-soldiers use to stifle discussion and debate.
What cumulative effect does this have on the public psyche and broader human rights? Nothing good.
It actually has a chilling effect on basic human rights, and freedom of speech.
We live in an age where people have to mute themselves, and avoid basic conversations for fear of offending someone.
We are in a dangerous position of dividing and further solidifying the ‘us and them’ mentality.
We know from history that this phenomenon does not end well.
Creating an enemy or a group that is separate or dehumanised provides the foundation for the worst atrocities committed by humanity.
Think torture and genocide.
And in a world where we have a nuclear arsenal that has the capacity to wipe us out as an entire species, we need to think long and hard about the trajectory we taking.
We need to think about what kind of society we want, not only for ourselves, but future generations.
We have the benefit of those who came before us to learn and grow.
The age of reason must not be fleeting.
We have to fight to ensure it remains strong.

Repression of freedom of speech is not new having been around for centuries. Recall during WW2 when Churchill refused Australian PM Curtin the right to withdraw our troops from Africa claiming that Pacific war was negligible. Curtin replied sternly to Churchill demanding that our men come home .British PM relented with transport offer but was actually attempting to send them to Mountbatten's Burma Campaign on the way back Curtin's reply was that our men were coming home and Churchill lost that battle also The story of his defeat by Curtin was repressed In UK newspapers but was spread by Irish and Spanish press who used their freedom of speech. Freedom of speech must be accompanied by responsibility to make the mark
And the core of these beliefs begins in the classroom. We now have at least two generations of indoctrinated fools who blindly follow the agendas set down by evil, power hungry megalomaniacs.
I watched an interview with George and Topher Field. (Most of you have probably seen it.)
Topher promoted a set of books for children and they looked damned good.
Mind you, I haven't read them but readers may want to have a look. If I had young kids and could afford them I'd get them in a shot!
