What you wrote in your post was exactly what I was reading in the terms from NAB in the leaflet I received in the mail! Their terms ARE ridiculous and ambiguous. You're right!

Time for a new bank.

I am currently looking at local credit unions and may have found a decent one. I'll go in there tomorrow and ask a few questions :-)

I've disliked NAB for years, but I think the time has come to make my exit. NAB won't care about what I have to say regarding their new ambiguous terms. They're also closing the branch in my town on 19th Oct. I found out when I went in there last week! Supposedly they sent both hubby & I letters to let us know (you know, so we could say something to the bank about it?!)...but surprisingly neither letter arrived...

Any of the Big Banks are going to be bad to bank with in the future. Unless of course, you tow the current 'socially acceptable' line and agree with everything our stupid govt says!

The March toward communism, only for us, it won’t be a long March! I have a NAB account and did get some sort of notification, however, I have absolutely nothing in it, so they can do what they like to me! I have another bank though and I also use cash, at this stage I have had no notification like the one NAB issued. My sister is with Commonwealth and she got a letter stating she can only withdraw something like $5000 without an explanation. She is in Sydney and went to the bank and asked how can she pay a$30,000 bill which she recently had? They told her she can come into the bank and they will look after her! So, yes,it is all happening.

NAB wanted access to my phone & all the apps i use. They stopped my internet banking so i told them to pissoff & now bank with the Heritage. If a bank froze access to my funds i would seek retribution & i am quite sure they would never do that again to anyone

What should really scare people is the fact the bank is openly admitting to mining intelligence on their customers pattern of life online for the purpose of weaponising it against them. My NAB credit card will be cut up tonight and returned to them.

So for everyone's awareness, Sunday papers carried a small piece in the money section "Big Banks move after cash scrapped". Maquarie Bank has announced it will phase out "Cash and Cheque" services across all wealth management and banking products between Jan and Nov 2024. A few months back, one of my superannuation funds sent me a letter stating from the start of next year, "Cash" will not be an investment option.
