Dislike technology too old to bother much but only when compelled to do so and digital activity warps my brain Easy to see how control is being used to make inroads into personal privacy Why do so many others need to know so much about me that I dont want disclosed I am a very ordinary person who has my own place in this world not needing to be shepherded into some other category to suit other's aims and wishes No Australia card for me,thanks

Nothing to do with this topic but I was wondering if anyone has heard or knows much about the QLD Health Practitioner Regulation National Law and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2022.

I'm hearing it's pretty scary stuff?

Hi George I am a tax professional we have been using the mygov id for a few years now. The thing no one is talking about is the directors id which is compulsory from November. From what I have read no government department needs it and it will be shared with overseas agency's. It has been put out to the tax agents as a way to stop fraud. I see no need for it and want to know what it is for? Do you have any incite on this?

Well , it is about the Digital ID card ..!! People , think about it !!!!! The government & their minions tracking us already got one tool to do so , when you think …!! It is called the MOBILE PHONE 📱!! With this item “ pinging “ on ever cell tower as you go along , first they always know where you are , coupled this with the internal GPS giving a pin point location where you are & they know who you spoke too , when & what you spoke about & how long you did talk ..!! If you want to sort off stop been tracked as you go along , do what I do ! Either turn the thing Off or simply put it on “ airplane mode “ ! Only deactivate it when you are at destination , either be home or else or in absolute emergency ! Stuff the “ Facebook “ contact , the last email or else …!! NOTHING is that urgent & also important as FREEDOM…!!

This year the ATO demanded company directors HAD to get a digital ID by LAW.

(Sorry for the caps lock. No italics here.)

And "Failing to apply for a director ID when directed by the registrar attracts a criminal fine of $13,200 and a civil fine of $1.1 million."

Top that off with the STP, (Single Touch Payroll), which is COMPULSORY and that's just two "new" pieces of new legislation.

Anyone who's done payroll through MYOB or any other accounting program, (which by the way is ALL electronic and on a cloud now!), and processes an employee pay (which is usually weekly for most companies/businesses), HAS to upload it immediately to the ATO upon completing it. There is no way out of it!

I personally had a problem recently when I incorrectly entered the wrong info for a pay run. I paid this person for X amount of hours and processed it and it went through STP.

The next week I realised I'd made a mistake resulting in an over payment to the employee.

Under the old system I could simply go in and correct the pay, which wasn't previously reportable until the end of the financial year.

OR I could delete the pay entirely as do a replacement to correct it.

Well no more!

Because it had been processed through the ATO's Big Brother digital platform I had NO chance of changing it!

Now the most frustrating thing about this was that it was the last pay for the financial year! So any adjustment couldn't be done until the next one.

It may not seem like a big deal to some but the resultant compulsory super was also for the end of the financial year out AND it caused all sorts of problems!

Interestingly I was speaking to a friend the other day who uses MYOB and had to ring them as her Director "digital ID" hadn't worked in the system for some reason.

MYOB were able to help her sort it out BUT they also told her they are flat out as their is a MULTITUDE of new laws and regulations coming into the system - courtesy of the federal government/ATO etc., which is going to introduce MASSIVE new laws and regulations aka "requirements" for people, small businesses and companies to "lawfully" operate.

ALL DIGITALLY TRACKED!!!

This is happening in the US - Last year, the IRS quietly updated their login page to announce that taxpayers would no longer have the ability to access their records from personal computers at home using their passwords, rather they would be required to set up an ID.me account with an identity verification service that collects biometric information. Fortunately, pushback from citizens and lawmakers forced the IRS to backtrack on their plans, but ID.me still has approximately 64 million users, most of whom were forced to sign up in order to receive state or federal assistance in the form of Covid assistance funds, child tax credit payments and unemployment insurance.

This is a very interesting but scary article and video - https://www.coreysdigs.com/technology/welcome-to-the-surveillance-state-biometrics-data-collection-is-all-around-you/
