William Domhoff’s book, “Who Rules America,” demonstrates that public policy agenda-setting, “begins informally in corporate boardrooms, social clubs, and discussion groups, where problems are identified as ‘issues’ to be solved by new policies. It ends in government, where their policies are enacted and implemented.”
The initial impetus for policy change and initial resources for research, planning, and formulation come from corporate and personal wealth channeled into tax-free foundations, universities, policy-oriented think tanks, and non-governmental organizations in the form of endowments, grants, and contracts.
Moreover, corporate presidents, directors, top wealth holders, key advisors, and their lawyers also sit on the governing boards of many such institutions to guide and monitor the progress of their plans.

One of the many Council on Foundations’ Affinity Groups, namely the Environmental Grantmakers Association, is the funding epicenter of the environmental movement.

I think I will ditch all my NAB accounts for good, shortly. I'm using another bank now for almost everything, and will be opening an account with a local credit union shortly, but I think it's time for NAB to take a long walk off a short pier. It used to be good...but hasn't been for quite some years now, and after their banking policy changed in November to basically say they'll block anyone they think is using their bank account in a financial manner to offend someone (!), well, I just can't deal with that sort of madness! I swear people are taking funny pills on a daily basis.
These Big Banks are where it's all starting, and it will end up trickling down to the little banks as well. But at least I can gain more time by switching to a local credit union soon (and no, they don't have weird things about how they'll freeze your account because they think your bank account looks at people in a funny way!).
When I canceled mine with ANZ about six months ago the manager was incensed. It was for me a profoundly satisfying experience because their bullying had been breath taking. As well I watched the way they treated the elderly and this was most disturbing of all.
They won't be able to bully me. But thanks for the heads up! The teller probably won't even care to tell you the truth. It's not like I've ever had too much money in those accounts! Plus I've complained about NAB internally before. They'll probably be happy to see the back of me! :-D

I think the teller will be quite happy to be rid of me in the end. All I have to is show them NAB's booklet titled "Changes to Personal Transaction and Savings Products (Addendum)" effective 01 November 2023, and tell them if they make this booklet disappear, and become a sane bank again, then I will re-consider my position with the bank. But otherwise, the answer is NO! So I'm very sure they will be unable to retain me as a customer (moreso because I have already decided what I am going to do, and once I decide that, for small things like this that I know I have control over, it happens! For things outside of my control, well, all I can do is make sure I've done my homework, hope for the best and remain flexible!).
I do know that when you want to leave any sort of organisation, most places try to keep you as a customer, but when I make up my mind over something important, it's usually after much deliberation, and the chance of my mind then being changed back is very, very small. Anyway, I don't need these accounts anymore. I've got other ones. Plus, NAB doesn't do Osko for everyone. They're so slack. And they've taken away being able to send messages online with internet banking. You now have to do virtual chat or call up with any issues! So many problems. I can rattle them off one after the other and I know the NAB teller won't be able to fix them!
