Julian Assange is a journalist and is entitled to be treated as such. No doubt he upset some powerful figures in the USA - some of what is now known as the Swamp - CIA, military and various neo-cons like Bush jnr ,Cheney et al. All in all,a rather scurvy crew. He revealed the truth, nothing else.

Successive Australian governments have been complicit in their lowlife behavior. One word covers it- suckholes.

I don't expect much sense from Albanese & Co but maybe they could surprise me by standing up to the Brits and the Yanks and demanding the immediate release of an Australian citizen held in,by any stretch of the imagination, unlawful custody.

I hear the mother's heart. 11 years in detention without resolution is criminal.

Let all Australian Christians pray for Julian n his family n if we can in addition, do more.... then listen to the answer given by His spirit n follow those directions .

All of us Australians need to pray for Julian and to repent for our own sins before pointing the finger at our supposed elected politicians expecting them to be moral beings...we all need to collectively take this step.

Free Julian now.

Yes free Julian now

He's already been punished enough

Julian should be returned to Australia and set free from all charges. Perhaps the government could employ him somewhere to safeguard us from all the hackers who seem to have free reign on our phones, and computers. Only those who do evil and speak lies want him to remain locked away and punished any further for speaking the truth.

Free reign on computers n phones indeed, makes me smile to even consider that I once thought I.T. security was possible.

Julian Assange crime it seems is to expose the hidden truth and that truth was/is ugly ... every dictatorship knows to maintain control they must control the narrative, hence Julians work is a threat to any and all totalitarians - The Australian Governments lack of concern and inaction to free him reveals it as such a regime (really exposed by the China Virus response) The two party system has failed us all as they have proven themselves to be two wings of the same bird flying us into a wall .

Treat Julian Assange as an Australian journalist...that's what he is!

I find it shameful that the first thing Albanese did upon winning the election was to make illegal refugees Australian citizens and give them his backing ( I understand that the family had children while waiting, but were not held in a prison) while an Australian born citizen was held in U.K. prison awaiting extradition to the U.S.A. and never a statement on the subject made. His wife & children, his father, his brother and mother have all tried for so many years to have him released - why aren't our Politicians doing more?

Assange stole and released an enormous amount of classified information. This release put other people's lives in danger. I am very sorry for his family, but I cannot support Assange.

Please provide your evidence of your accusation thst Assange "stole Classsified information".

Please provide your evidence that Assange put peoples lives in danger.

Until now oneself has not seen any such evidence provided by anyone, therefore, if youi have this evidence Rowan, please provide it to us all....

As I remember it at the time, the theft and release of Classified sensitive information was the basis of the charge against Assange. As a certain amount of the information was from areas under communist control the lives of informants were certainly put in danger. I don't have any written/printed evidence, it is a while ago but it was a case we were keenly interested in and I am relying on memory.

Its has become a dangerous world to live in when peoples are led to perceive a judgement without hard evidence at hand.

From memory; the "theft" of intelligence that was done by others and its very much "arguably theft" as the information was disclosed by whistle blowers who had finally grown a conscious...

With the said "Theft" logic of the U.S. governments version of "Theft" being used heavily as an argument for prosecution from the U.S. attorneys; the same conclusion that you believe; should be then used to subject all whistle blowers, being that of government or private sector shady practices to the publics attention... Whistle blowers like the famous Jeffrey S. Wigand.

So with your logic Rowan.... JSW, 60 minutes editor, and all others should be jailed just like you believe Julian Assenge should be....

Its my opinion that all whistle blowers, no matter what; must be immune from this type of prosecution. And that all sources of journalists, including the journalists, editors be immune from prosecution when their stories are proven facts as well....

Assange didn’t steal them. Someone else did.
