Understand this. The government and its service delivery arm are under the control of a large group of 'Left wing' activist class. They are desperate and scared witless of an LNP win and the new government going DOGE on them and exposing their incompetence, waste and largess.

Voting is such a farce now it makes me feel like not voting at all !!

Maybe that's what they're counting on. If people who wouldn't vote for them anyway don't vote, it at least means nobody else gets their vote, and they still get votes from all the newbies, plus money in the form of Fines from us, so they see it as win-win! :-D

You're probably right, although I haven't received a fine as yet; fingers crossed!

The AEC fine is a mere $20 - more monies are spent & wasted investigating the non-voters than keeping the electoral roles clean & up-to-date!

My disillusionment with the whole process has already caused me to stop, and I know that means I can't complain about who gets in, but frankly I no longer care.

Sounds like business as usual in Straya. 'Independent' government agencies doing the bidding of whoever's in government? Never! Last 5 years puts that beyond any doubt surely - at least to all the clueless and compliant who will yet again elect either the ALP or LNP to govern in their own right at the next federal election ... coming up very soon.

……well we all know that “desperate times call for desperate measures”….😩. This is certainly desperate. We all need to make sure that we put all the majors last on our ballot paper.

Votes would be essential for the ministers holding electorates in Sydney Melbourne crowded housing areas pertaining to the face that these politicians assisted in their entry to Australia but this does not qualify that their loyalty to this nation is their goal Regions needed the population that was offering but were never given the opportunity as most demanded to live in cities with relatives friends close by & settled there to be nannied highly as essential population Shame on former govts allowing this to happen after viewing the damage that has been done to our society by criticism of us from foreigners not interested in being Australians Shut the migration gate & cull the losers

Situation evolves from past govts locating & cramming incomers of similar ilk/ kin into crowded housing forming an enclave within our country of people of similar race religion & outlook Many migrants demand close contact with relatives & friends which fails assimilation What remains is a solid group of urban based non citizens forming unwanted alliances in our country Their differences have been shown by anti Semitic behaviour and attempts to form a religious ruling political party here Notice what has happened overseas where these people hang together against host nations More migrants should be directed to regional areas where they would have to learn to assimilate more quickly instead of learning groups presently provided for them

Yep, sounds like the same Labor govt where Albanese was crowned King Muck - where rules are for

Other.

People.

And by the way, I think Labor thinks of 'patriotism' as equating to being a ring-in. And look, in some ways Tony Burke is right. Unless we're Aboriginal, we're all ring-ins. And even then, Aboriginals came here from elsewhere, albeit a lot further back in time, so in that sense, we're ALL ring-ins, ha ha! But seriously, I think Labor just wants lots of other people here, so long as they vote for them! Because for MPs/Senators to be at citizenship ceremonies? In all honesty, it seems like a decent thing to actually generally do, but the fact that it's ONLY happening now, right before an election, is the problem. It is TOTALLY a 'photo op' to 'influence votes'.
