Many elite intellectuals seem intent on impressing their attitudes and ideas on what they deem as lesser people fit only to serve them in the elites'visions We have all been given a body and brain and are expected to use them to the best of personal ability and not needing to be tied down to those considering themselves as higher level beings requiring servility to be able to exist. Solzhenitsyn suffered for his quiet but insistent beliefs and spoke out freely clearly unafraid by known reprisals His example of free speech should be the guideline used to heal this disturbed world being stifled by nonsensical wording and defiling any opposing ways of speech or using stupid activities to promote their views of saving the world Whatever part of the world has been saved has never been proved and a switch to more spiritual aspirations may change some visions
I was an avid reader of Alexander Solzenhitzyn in the 1960's as a teen. What he wrote was horrific and I have never foorgotten his books. Yes, we are heading down the exact same path as Communist Russia and unfortunately so very few see it
For those of us who for what ever reason are not in the grip of indoctrination , and have come to understand that even if our adult children and grandchildren are........this is no reason to take the easy way out (again) and leave them ( by remaining silent ) as they are marched into hell by - a satanic cause.
I have met many who are terrified of loosing these relationship's. I understand terror and loss and I have no intention of demeaning their power but - God is bigger. Time for Christian's to get it right don't ch reckon .
And yet, ironically, Putin says the West is destroying itself through woke politics. He's correct.

Very good article, thanks George. As a child, I grew up in a family involved in the fight against Communism in Australia and I was aware that most people seemed either unaware of its involvement in Australian life, or were only too happy to ridicule those who were more knowledgeable about its dangers. Now, as then, there is much lack of awareness about the slippery slope to authoritarianism, the exclusion of people, including in universities, sporting clubs, corporations and others, who express differing viewpoints. An allied health practitioner I see, told me how he and his family, on coming to Australia, were amazed at how Australia appears to be going down the same path as that followed by his home country in Europe which is now free after years under a Communist dictatorship.
I’m currently reading Rod Dreher’s excellent book, “Live Not by Lies: a Manual for Christian Dissidents,” and within the first pages, was reference to comments by immigrants from Europe who have experienced Communism and who are amazed and concerned that in the USA, people have this lack of knowledge and don’t see the soft totalitarianism all around them.
“The old, hard totalitarianism had a vision for the world that required the eradication of Christianity. The new, soft totalitarianism does too, and we are not equipped to resist its sneakier attack.” - “Live not by Lies,” - Solzhenitzyn.
